The last few weeks or so....

So I have been up to Austin and Dallas, visited so many people that I had not seen in a long time. I had my interview for my DBE certification on Tuesday, learned how to enter tickets for my trucks, and tomorrow I learn payroll. I haven't been going out much lately but that is Ok because I have really had time to enjoy friends and family. In the last few days I have had dinner with My father, brother-in-law, nephew twice. I finished one of my graphic design jobs, and have the June and July projects to work on for the Ransom Center. Tomorrow I head to mcAllen to do something different.... ahhhhhhh. I hear that I will be attending some dive bars while I am up that way. I am thinking about heading to Padre on Saturday night maybe Sunday and see a friend of mine who will be with her kids. So below are the photos and they are pretty self explanatory. I need to plan my trip to Chicago and Michigan for Benitos wedding and I found out Urba Buena is playing in Brownsville in October and Panic will be in Houston in July. I visited with Leslie in Alaska last night and debated immigration rights in the US with some people from the Valley, my first political discussion down here with someone other than my family members. I should probably go to sleep soon, but I have been staying up again, late night... If I stay up past my tiredness it is almost inevitable that I will stay up too late. Buenos noches amigos.

Roses are hilarious...

So I have become good friends with a girl in town whose mother owns a very nice flower shop in town. In fact it was the very same flower shop I used to get my flowers from for dances in High School. Now I know you are thinking hilarious, but wait there is more to this story. I realized when talking to the mother the other day, that I not only got my boyfriends flower to pin on his lapel, but I also picked out my own wrist corsage, to be picked up and paid for by my boyfriend. Yes I said wrist, I would have never pined a flower on my actual dress. Now do not think that I do not realize how odd this is to pick out my own flower, but the even more almost anal, control freakish thing that I realized while speaking to the woman was this... When we discussed that yes I did pick out my own, and yes I usually choose stephanotis, a relative to the madavilla with a very strong almost gardenia scent, I said to her well if I was going to have to wear it... it had better look good. Now as I said this I revisited the psyche of an 18 year old, and at the same time realized the 33 year old in me could not believe that I actually did this once upon a time. The two battled it out, I cannot tell you who won.
