Driving Home

I was driving home from San Marcos Monday morning and it was the most beautiful drive. As I drove in and out of the scattered shadows the clouds created on the ground I realized how beautiful it must have been to cross South Texas after tons of rain of which we have had in Texas lately. I felt lucky to be driving on that morning, everything was green and lush. Natural grasses long and lean created patterns as the wind blew across their untamed blades. Trees hung heavy with the weight of leaves. Water sat stagnant in the ditches along the railroad tracks and to my surprise they were filled with purple water lilies in full bloom. I have never noticed water lilies and it is probably because the lack of rain, but they were beautiful and I stopped to take photos. I am not sure if these pictures represent what I saw that day driving through the King Ranch and Yturria but I hope you enjoy them all the same.
