Leaving San Pedro

We are about to board a boat leaving San Pedro and head back to Comalapa and on to Nicaragua. Last night was wonderful. 2 days ago we met the Bajan Phillip and then ran in to him again yesterday afternoon. We ended up spending the day with him, visiting an art gallery with Norms friend Chrissy who studies the Guatemalan art movement. Apparently they are showing this art at the Smithsonian right now so I ended up falling in love with a piece and purchasing it to be sent home. It has three sections of workers in the field harvesting banana's, cotton and mango. It is wonderful and painted by two brothers in the area which are supposedly the best. I took photos of the artist pallet which is always beautiful. Then later that evening we walked along the small dirt paths passing tiny bars and places to eat and settled in to a quaint place where I had potato soup and red wine. Soon enough a woman Phillip knew walked up. I asked her to join us. Her name is Nubia and she is from Saragosa Spain and absolutely beautiful. We ended up heading to a bar, the Buddha and played pool until we walked home and fell asleep. This morning we visited with our neighbors who told us about an international surfing competition in El Salvador next weekend and so we are thinking about attending. Phillip will also be there as he a surfer as well. I am off to Nicaragua today, wish me luck!
